shows, travels and my motor scooter accident …
so i am back from israel and turkey and had a lovely time. i have to say, getting back to “reality” has been hard. the other thing that has been hard is walking around on crutches. that’s right … right smack dab in the middle of the trip kelda decides she needs to ride a motor scooter (for the very first time, mind you) and crashes and burns and sprains her ankle. ug! so me and my shrek foot tried to see as much of the old city of jerusalem as we could, although those cobble stones and stairs were killer!
anyway, enough about my foot … you can hear more tales from my trip at any of the upcoming shows … i’m listing a bunch at the bottom of this e-mail, as i have more news to tell first. but most imortantly, we have booked our first show at the temple bar in santa monica. for anyone who hasn’t been there, it’s super cool and i’ve been wanting to play there for some time, so i’m stoked about it! plus, it’s far enough away that my foot should be back to normal by then … so mark the calendars now for tuesday, november 29th, at 9:30pm …
ASCAP AWARD
for the third year in a row, i am the recipient of the ASCAPLU$ award. this award recognizes active and promising songwriters based on frequent performances/independently produced recordings. woo hoo!
SAN FRANCISCO
i am returning to the bay the first weekend in november. my main reason for going is honestly because my uncle will be performing there that saturday night, but i figured i’d join him in the playing so i will be performing at the cannery on sunday, november 6th, from 11am-2pm.
ROCKRGRL CONFERENCE
i have been selected to SHOWCASE at the rockrgrl conference in seattle next month. so if you’re going to be up there for that conference, i will be performing at Rendezvous Grotto on Saturday, November 12th, at 11:30pm.
oh, and this week/weekend i’m doing a bunch of shows too, if you just can’t wait until the end of november (or fly to san fran or seattle for me) …
thursday (today), october 20, westwood farmer’s market (at westwood and weyburn), 5-7pm
friday (tomorrow), october 21, lestat’s in san diego (i LOVE this place), 3343 Adams Ave., 9pm
saturday, october 22, the fabulous kat parsons and i are double gigging it together saturday night … first we’re playing at a house party in pasadena and then we’ll be performing at the hive gallery downtown (729 S. Spring St.) at 10pm
sunday, october 23, brasserie les voyous (6541 Hollywood Blvd) (special thanks to norman for rocking the brasserie house!), 8:30pm
